Who is Local Street?

Who is Local Street?

Built by a couple of people who love music and are hungry for showcasing the talents of amazing bands in College Station, TX. Local Street serves as one of the many catalysts for upcoming artists and bands to be heard in an intimate setting. This unique group at its core strives to build a community for the music lover and helps provide an opportunity for upcoming musicians to share their beautiful work that they have been crafting.

There are many times where it is hard for upcoming bands to play their own music, because the place that they are performing at does not always focus on the actual band. Local Street allows for bands to engage in an up close and personal environment as well as utilize the costly equipment and PA system that they might not have yet. Music is very powerful in the eyes of Local Street, and it is their goal to establish a foundation where it can be fully appreciated.

The Nomads of Music Venues

Though regarding the physical location of Local Street, it changes every show. Local Street prides itself on being a “location-less” venue, per se, in which there is no definite place that they hold these concerts at. I would consider them to be recognized as the nomads of music venues and this is what makes them unique. Previously in October, Local Street had their first show, and it was a stellar success in a house full of people who were solely there for the love of music.

Local Street aims to elicit a specific theme to every show and this one was a Halloween themed event advertised as A Nightmare on Local Street. The bands that performed were the talented Traitor Joes, Thirteenth Hour and Rococo Disco. If you have haven’t heard of these incredible bands then feel free to check out the features that The Bueller has on them. Each of the bands killed their set and played a range of music from covers and their own songs to keep the crowd entertained.

This upcoming Friday December 10th, Local Street is back in College Station with another show featuring local talent from Thirteenth Hour, Push To Start Band and the band Kitsch. Dm Local Street on Instagram for the address of the show, bring your friends and wear a Christmas sweater because it’ll be a time to remember before the semester ends. Rumor has it that Mrs. Clause might pull up as well.

So, to answer the title of this post as to who are the masterminds behind Local Street, I guess you’ll never know but you must come see for yourself.
