Let me introduce you to this band full of straight funk and groovy tunes. Two visionaries, David Soto and Paul Chu met each other while attending Texas A&M University and have curated something quite beautiful in their music. This magical duo started playing at backyard concerts and bars of Bryan/ College Station. Rococo Disco is a pop and rnb indie band with a wide collection of bangers to add to your playlists this summer.

the ultimate space cowboys

Their music perfectly defines the word Ethereal: extremely delicate and light in a way that seems too perfect for this world. I feel like I am floating into outer space on a rainbow farting unicorn whenever a Rococo Disco song is played. (I don’t know where I thought of that, but it sounds kind of right and I’m going to stick with it.) Lead singer Paul Chu is on another dimension with his vocals and elegantly brightens each song with a free and liberating sensation.

A couple favorite songs of mine are “Lial” and “Honey Do” which are off their first EP Jaded. I was today years old when I realized that the name of the song “Lial” is an acronym for living in a lie. The entire Jaded EP truly emphasizes how dynamic Paul’s voice is as a whole. Rococo Disco’s most recent single “Cowboy Dreams” enables the listeners to understand how diverse the range of their music is.

Not only is their music straight fire, but their stage performance is too. It is imperative that you see these guys live because, lead guitarist, David Soto absolutely shreds it on the guitar. Last weekend, Rococo Disco performed in Austin with 8-Bit Wizard and will be heading up to Dallas this Saturday to play with Rightfield at Three Links. Also, if you are in College Station on July 31st, make your way over to Lake Walk and check them out!

Rumor has it that they may or may not be cooking up some music for you guys as we speak. So definitely make sure to give them a follow on Instagram and blast their songs whenever possible. This is just the beginning for Rococo Disco and I can’t wait to see their future endeavors come to light.
