The Ever So Elegant Rikki Valentina

This feature goes out to the ever so elegant and inspiring Rikki Valentina. Rikki, a rising star raised out of Los Angeles, is taking on the entertainment industry with her dreamingly graceful sound and charisma. I had the chance to speak with her earlier this summer and talk about all things music, debate the best Disney movies and learn of her pet rescue adventures.
You may have heard Rikki on our Daydreamin playlist a couple weeks ago. When a song of hers is played, I feel as if I can close my eyes and it’ll guide me wherever I need to be. Rikki defines her sound as “soft and pure but [she] still picks up on dark topics, while masking it with sweet subtleness” such as in her songs Dollar $igns and Dazed & Confused. Rikki also grew up immersed in a wide variety of music from Rush and Soundgarden to Mazzy Star and Britney Spears which has developed her craft in songwriting.
Rikki illustrates the foundation of her songwriting process through the experiences in her life and uses them as an outlet to share her story and “make art out of it.” With her capabilities, the brilliant artist can come up with absolute bangers out of thin air. The inspiration for her song Dazed & Confused is rooted from a time when she “felt out of place in a friend group and didn’t think it [she] could open up to them.”
Not only does she sing so amazingly, but our dearest Rikki also grew up acting as well. She recounts the times of when she was six years old and auditioning for Barney to growing older and appreciating the film industry as a whole. From acting in the series Pop Music High, Rikki found experience in “constantly learning new songs… and performing them for the show” in which gave her the ability to be a part of both music and acting and build her fan demographic.
For the remainder of 2021, Rikki is manifesting the production for her brilliant music video ideas, preparing to drop a new single called Paranoid in October and has a role in the TV series Recruiters. Go check her out and show her some love. Watch the full interview below.
