Shon Plant: a rapper, model, visionary and hustler.
I really don’t know where to start with this guy because there is so much to talk about. Shon Plant is the next artist that needs to be heard by everyone so make some space in your top three rappers and add this proud king of Trinidad to your list.
Someone give me the number to whoever is in charge of the soundtrack for Skate 4 so I can tell them to put that man Shon Plant on there. You might have seen his name before on The Bueller because I added him to our Bueller Olympics Playlist on Spotify. Also, I’m pretty sure, Professional Skateboarder, Jagger Eaton was listening to him while he was skating in the Olympics earlier this week. That’s not entirely confirmed but you can pretend it is.
With music like his, it is hard not to rock your head back and forth to every song on full blast with the windows down. His debut album “Gortex” makes me want to cause wreak havoc in the comments of a neighborhood Facebook page and let the Karens know what’s up. Shon blatantly demonstrates his unique rap style and Trinidadian roots in Gortex with songs such as 33.Chops, Sign$ and Hen N’ Cheese.
Shon Plant is unapologetically himself. In doing so, this helps set the foundation for his music which is similar to the style of Tyler, The Creator’s album Wolf. Most recently, Shon Plant released the album LAST RIDE with sunofthesol. A track that I listen to often is the song SNOWDROP in which you can also check out his music video, directed by Tate Peterson, on YouTube.
Not only does this man drop straight heat in his music, but he also has a sick clothing line that you should see. A rapper, model, visionary, and hustler born in Houston with the strong potential to make an impact in the music industry. More people need to listen to Shon Plant because he is on a whole other echelon when it comes to the music he makes.
