Montclair Releases “Passing Through”
Montclair released their second single “Passing Through”, and my heart is full to the brim. Instrumentally sound and lyrically swift, Montclair flawlessly embraces their vulnerability and emotions into another organic tune. I envision myself one day driving down the Pacific Coast Highway with the windows down and while taking everything that comes my way with this song playing in the background.
Anna’s whimsical yet effervescent voice brings clarity to the meaning passing through. The notion of being present in all thing’s life and finding understanding. It is mentioned that this song reminds the band of “a loving squeeze of the hand during times of anxiety” and I get it. Sometimes in life we can get overwhelmed with all the things that we want to do and lose sight of what we need. This song is a reminder to remain calm and understand that life will work out the way it is supposed to be.

In a sense, their music embodies the idea of completing a 1000-piece puzzle. You are left pleasantly satisfied by the work in which it allows you to fully appreciate the beauty within. To refer to the Eagles, it’s that peaceful easy feeling. A sound reminiscent of looking out the window as a child during a road trip and seeing everything pass by. Some guy named Ferris once said, “life moves pretty fast, if you don’t stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.” I think he was on to something.
The members of Montclair: Casen, Anna, Clay and Jackson have so much potential, and I am confident that you will be seeing them on several billboards in the near future. Also, we must acknowledge the bands’ talents outside of music as well. Believe it or not, Casen is a professional in the art of the Yo-Yo and Jackson is prone to have some of the best impressions – his Italian mob boss one is spot on.
If you feel so inclined to support the rad band and their music, I hear that they have some dope things going on. This Friday, in College Station, be sure to catch them live at the BYX Battle of the Bands. If you’re not able to make it, feel free to check out their passing through merch. If you haven’t read about this talented band in the past I suggest you check out the post on their debut single “Pastel Lies”. They also just released an amazing music video for passing through that showcases their authentic personality and process for recording the song.
